I ran into this post earlier today by Ben Lovejoy from 9to5mac.com

It talks about how Ben is using an iPad Air as a home control panel for his guests. I have a similar home setup minus the iPad Air running home app.

Since we have a Siri at Home we’re able to tell Siri to turn off/on the different lights in the home. But a guest would have no idea to ask Siri. Hence setting up an iPad with Guided mode keeps the app in place and lets them operate the home.

Check out the detail step by step on how he went about setting up the iPad as the home control panel.
